New Photo Equipment

Some of you might remember I borrowed a 80-200MM lens of a client at work, also borrowed his D200 and another lens for a little while.

Was there to do some work and we were chatting, he said I could have his D80 with the 18-70mm Lens for £250 and he also would chuck in a Speedlight SB-24 needless to say I jumped at the chance. Its a bit scratched and the likes as it was his backup cam but for £250 I couldnt pass it up.

Getting some even better results with the AF which now works on the big 80-200mm lense I still have.

It would have been daft to pass it up. I did toy with the idea of selling it but seeing as he was doing me a favour I figured that wouldnt be good. I guess it can grow with me.

it does make you realise though what an awesome camera the D40 is for the cash. For me it wouldnt have been worth an extra 300 quid for the D80 over the D40. Although is really nice not to have to flick threw menus to change shizzle like ISO, Metering etc etc and have the small LCD on top

im looking at getting a d300 when its out... as a backup for my d2x... also possibly getting a hassie h3d through work

the d80 is a good camera though used a few dont worry about it being scratched, nikons are strong and built to last unlike canons lol

its the 39mp h3d ii they are looking to get for me to use... but its like £21k but i aint paying lol... although it would be mine they have bought me a fair chunk of new equipment recently and its all mine to keep weather i leave there or not... so im happy

yup done a couple jobs for her also do most of the photography for the cotswold waterpark for advertising/promotions etc

i brought my own gear, the 5d is her camera lol and i didnt wanna lower myself to using it lol the h3d is a work in progress lol, is weston the south african guy??

my mum being the managing director of the tourism for the waterpark means i get the pick of the jobs lol there is a bar/restaurant there and i have been doing all the images of their promo and advertising work...

also did some work through rare for tewks saw, the owner has passed on my cards to a few people and got me work outside too, its been a fairly busy couple months lol
