New Pioneer Sat Nav unit - handbrake wire circuit?

  Focus RS Mk1
HI all, just fitted a Pioneer AVIC F930BT to my Focus.

All works fine, not 100% sure what to do with the handbrake wire. i know its illegal to have the screen on doing other thing during driving blah blah but i just wanna get round the whole handbrake on thing...

The wire that should go to the handbrake, does that have to go to an earth or to a 12v feed? at the moment i have it to a 12v feed but im 99% sure thats wrong and its limiting my function of the stereo.

Can i just earth it out somewhere and it'l do the job?

Thanks

Sean

ah ok, cool. so all ive done is ensure that it is thinks the handbrake is released!

The only reason im asking is because nearly all the functions are unasable, even the settings menu's, im hoping by grounding that wire they will come alove, will try tonight.

cheers
