New Premium Dodo Juice Waxes

I was just looking at the thread on DW, and was a little confused, as the new waxes seem to be sold together for a combined RRP of around £80. Surely you should just be able to order them separately at half the cost?!

The results so far look very good though, but if you have to buy 2 x £40 waxes they would surely sell a lot more selling individually?

i thought that too. surely you would use less of the hard wax, and need topups of the soft wax. but i did only scan read it lol

I read through it all, no mention of being able to buy it separately as far as I can tell? If I could order the hard wax by itself then I would get it, but for soft waxes the Onyx is incredible and its a virtually new pot.

With any luck they will offer it later, seems insane not to. And like you said Middo, you will just end up with more hard wax each time you ordered.

The point of them as I understand is that they are used as a two step process - Hard then Soft - hence being sold as that.

If the Hard wax then the Soft is your thing - Megs 16 topped with Onyx would be my recommendation.

Or just get one of the other Dodo hardwaxes ?

^ Yeah that is a good suggestion Rich, but as the only review of the Blue Velvet I have read wasn't amazing (yours ) I was hoping the new premium would be better, especially with the extra caranuba it should be presumably slightly easier to apply.

Megs 16 is on my shopping list already mate...

In all fairness as Matt replied on my thread, the sample pots have a problem re. the cooling that made the wax too hard to use. Only reason I am going to get the Double Waxes as I quite liked the Purple Haze, but hated the colour magicness to it - wrecked ok, stained a foam hand pad - hoping the premium stuff is not so artifically coloured.

i have dedicated PH foam pads!!! lol, i dont care really as its a good wax!!

You will need them! If I had known before I would not have killed a brand new pad using it.

Dodo Juice has hinted that there will be two versions available of the new premium Doublewax.

The first one available is the Detailing World branded Doublewax, available direct from Detailing World exclusively for a two week period before being available via the DJ Dealers. Although I’m unsure how many dealers will actually stock it due to the reduced margins available as royalties / commissions from each pot sold go to DW.

A Dodo Juice only branded comparative Doublewax product will then be made available from early next year complete with new packaging.


Both are designed to be applied as a soft wax (200ml) over a hard wax (200ml).

Dodo Juice has confirmed that pots will not be made available separately.

That seems a bit stooopid IMO. They should give customers the choice, they would probably sell more too - but I guess they must have their reasons...

Might order some of the Blue Velvet over Christmas anyway.
