new rs tuner

hi guys,
i have just gone to order a rs tuner from the fast chip website and just ended up :S.

what are all the add ons that they list to go with it and surley its best to buy the stage 2 or 3 map to go with it or just stick to the basic thing to start with?

There should be an ABS add on and an Airbag add on. It depends what you are buying the RS tuner for? if you are simply wanting to remap the car with a map avaliable on fastchip website, buy the basic with no add on's. I required my airbag lights to be switched off as I have non standard seats. So I had the Airbag module added. Also for a 182 I believe ther is only one avaliable remap. No stages as you put? have a look at the name of the file. be usre to check the ECU software aswell. Although the RStuner advises you on what you will require. If you want telemetry and to run dials the more advanced RS tuner will allow that. It is all written on the Website.

thanks for the quick reply, i was just unsure because at the bottom of the page where you could "add to cart" sort of speak thats where it showed all the add on's. but reading through the description of the rs tuner it says "Quickly change maps within minutes. Whether it is to restore your original engine map for a visit to the dealer or to upload one of our stage 2,3 maps."

Ok so first you chose the type of RS Tuner you want then find out your cars VIN. Then select that in the next drop down box. if its a 182 then its a Clio 2 CB1H (+€49.00) Clio 2 CB1U (+€49.00) Clio 2 CB2S (+€49.00) Clio 2 C61U (+€49.00). and then select the relevant add ons if you require any. They are have a full description of there purpose.

Oh to add you will then need to buy a map from the download area but wait until you have the kit first plug it in. Back up the ECU software first. Then buy the Map you wish and upload.

My VIN starts CB22.... does this mean I'd need to go for 'Clio 2 CB2S (+€49.00)'

yeah its a 182 ive got. so after buying the unit and the vin code box i still have to buy a map for it? sorry for asking a 1000 and 1 questions but i jst wan2 make sure i buy all the right stuff and not waste money and trying to make sence of their website is like teaching the purpose of atoms to a pig

yer its advisable to buy the box first and then you can get the map for it. I had to update the total ECU before it would accept the map I had purchased. All of it is avaliable to you on the website. sleect the map and you iwll get an email with a link to the download. once you have it selected you can upload it to your ECU. if however the numbers dont match up and the RStuner gives you an error. As mine did. Its just another 10quid to geta full ECU software update, after that the ECU will accept the map. Any issues though email Henk. He was brilliant when I had that issue.
