I've finally completed the last puzzle on this game. It's a horrible game, I hate playing it but I needed to complete it.
I can confirm that you defiantly need a mic set up to complete it.
I've been trying since it came out without one and had no hope. Tried it with a mic for the first time tonight and finlly got the phone to ring

Genuinely gutted that this has been cancelled Norman Reedus was looking forward to this project and expressed his disappointment on Twitter. I can only assume it's due to the current 'politics' and internal arguments that are currently going on at Konami between Hideo Kojima and the company execs.
