hi and welcome. fairly new myself but after a couple of track days i am chuffed to bits with it.
the search button will help alot.
as far as i understand there is no need to decat as it is a sports cat and doesnt restrict the flow.most people seem to change it for a better sound and to save some wieght.
i am just about to refit my cat as after fitting my janspeed with decat it is too loud(101db) so want to bring it down.
remapping can be done fairly cheep with a rs tuner, i am just about to do mine in the next couple of days but apparently is well worth it.
good luck

Decat is easy peasy, takes about 15 minutes to swap over, and paired with a good exhaust is very nice sounding.

Remap will depend where you live, plenty of good mappers but ddont expect miracles, a couple of bhp extra at a push.

Wow cheers guys
I already have a k&n panel filter with an added cold feed to the standard box. It has a miltek cat back system and that's it?
I live in March PE15 postcode
I just want it to be as quick as poss without doing cams ect... yet.
thats in the bigger plan for the future.

I had just heard that de cating them slowed them down in the torque area ?
I only just brought it and it just feeld a little restricted I must admit I thoight it would pull harder?

If your chasing numbers you will need to spend big pennies. I'd concentrate more on decent tyres, brakes and suspension, as these cars are at best in the handling department. I'd go down the route of a nice induction kit, you've got a good exhaust and go for an rs tuner map. Welcome btw :)

Nice one mate
excuse my ignorance but where can I go for the "rs map"
So should I bother de cating ? Im sure it should pull harder then it does ?
Thanks for the advice so far mate

Search 'RS tuner'. Have a nose at martin182's guide for doing it. The biggest saving you will make is by paying to be a member, trust me :)

Don't apologise mate this forum is a good un. Being a forum user as apposed to being a member I'm not sure you can use the search button? Pay the £12 membership mate and the advice you get will pay for itself by the end of the week :)

Oh and it's not the case of becoming a member and you will get the advice you need, just all the sections on here are open for you to view

Oh okay got ya

You found the map for 210? If you had taken my advice and paid to be a member you will have read the map is about £56 and to unlock a tuner is £29. To buy a tuner second hand is around the £100 mark which after you use it can sell and get your money back. So rough cost £90. So

£210-£90=£120 saved. Pay the membership fee dude.

If you're concerned it's not pulling properly then it might be worth calling in at your nearest reputable specialist to get it checked over. Maybe the timing is out? Personally I wouldn't bother with the decat though. It makes very little difference overall in terms of raw performance. If you are chasing figures then be prepared to pay 2-3 times the cost of the car to go down the forced induction route...

A decatted Milltek gives off a very nice noise... its the only reason I decatted mine.

As said, RSTuner 98Ron remap is the way to go. Completely changes the way the car drives for the better, gives you more torque mid-range so the car picks up speed lower down the revs better.

Decat makes it rev a little free er apparently, can't say as I noticed much difference tbh, 2 reasons I run decat are 1 - my Renault cat won't deteriorate and rust as fast sat in my cupboard so I won't have to buy another when I need it, and 2 , i like it loud lol, but it does get annoying at times.

rs tuner is ok, seems to smooth the torque out.
