I run 25mm spacers on the front of mine with an 7J et43 offset wheels and i'm roughly 20mm max away from the tyres sticking out of the arch, and thats with 3 degrees of camber! Being a plastic arch and if you went any wider than that what I run without having suspension with no flex/movement it will just break the arch. Yours would stick out a further 18mm in comparison to mine.
The rear is the same 7J et43 wheel with a 13mm spacer and again that rubs on the arch already as its near enough flush. With the wheel you want to get it would stick out a further 30mm on the back in comparison to what I have, I dont think its even possible to widen the arches that much.
Oh and also there a VW fitment which is a centre bore of 56.1 or something close to that, clio is 60.1 so you'd have to machine the centre bore out with them also.
Fake splits, plus you'd need spacers for them to work. I'd say 25mm spacers on the front with a little bit of camber and 15mm spaces on the rear with a bit camber to actually look good!
Why dont you go for a set of 16/17" wheels? If your going 'scene' you'll fill the arches better with bigger wheels and stretched tyres. Plus better clearance from grounding out!
Well it rubbed like a **** on 16s, and it wasn't even that low. 17s would make it look like a chav bus, so I am not really going that way. 15s enable me to go low enough that looks decent, no scrubbing, cheap tyres, JOB DONE. Where did you get your spacers from? How do you know I'll need spacers etc?
It clearly scrubbed as your suspension is too soft then! The right 17" wheel can look good on a clio, but people on here are too quick decide against it as they think they'll get slated for it. If you choose right and pull it off you wont get slated, but then there is the matter of taste also.
I got my spacers from Venom Motorsport but you can get them on loads of internet websites, mine are Eibachs which are pretty light.
The way I tell whether you'll need spacers or not comes down to what I have on my car and calculating it, with Et works in mm's so you just do the maths. If you have an Et 43 wheel and you put on a 25mm spacer, it will equivelently make the wheel sit like a wheel with an Et18 and you just go from there.
Et 35 and are 8" wide them 17" BBS reps are, would sit nicely in the arches.
And the Vmaxxs are pretty soft so that would be your problem, all you can do is remove the bits of the car that are rubbing against the wheel to make things better.
