Hi peeps im looking to get a 172 mainly for the weekend and the track, i sold my type r after a couple of years of having it but not using it and after owing a long line of cars 40+ in the past 4 years i bought myself a van to do up as a cheap runabout and bought a 182bhp derv bora for the family. Well im now bored again and want some fun and after driving my mates 172 ph2 i realise there actually a pretty quick car for cheap and surprisingly economical god knows how, so im looking to get a cheap cheap 172 under 2k and spend 1k on the engine, breathing and map etc. Suspension i can get sorted no problems as i hav a contract with P.I. and Eibach. So anyway i have heard that the cup is not a tunable as the non cup and certain models have a better engine. Does anyone want to shed any light or their views on which models to look out for.
