Next upgrade brakes, but which ones?

I have just had my millitek exhuast fitted very pleased.

I am now moving onto to the brakes but am undecided, the car is only for road use not for track so ds2500's and CL's are out the question, so what other brake pads are good?

If your not tracking it, I'd stick to OE brakes.

Textar are a great OE make - original on BMW's too

I've read that standard rears are all good, but upgrading the fronts could be a good move (not in a position to give advice what to upgrade to though as I'm still researching myself!)

ok, i have been told mintex 1144's are these any good for road?

Wheres the best place to get OE from, cheap?

delphi pads but i found them simular to renault in every other car i fitted them too (i work at a renault garage)

im thinking ds2500 but they not cheap :(

i dare say i abuse brakes more than on track.
braking hard over the moors, i have got out and observed brakes actually on fire before :D

There nothing wrong with the DS 2500s on the road (except the price)

Had them in my 182 on the road for the last 2 years, carl ran them on his 172 of 2 years on the road and we have also ran them on our track car for the last 2 years with out any problems.

maybe but just the price as i dont need them for the track the mintex will do as there cheaper, also read some good things on here about them. maybe when it comes to going to the FCS next year i will put ds2500's on.

No need for proper pads at FCS if your planning on track time, its to busy on track to actually drive aggressively

Agree with this, DS2500 are fine for road.

I cooked my standard brakes after 4 or 5 laps last year at FCS.

to be honest if its just for road use i would go for ferodo premier pads (cheap and cheerfull), brembo hc discs, braided lines, dot 5.1 fluid.
and totally standard on the rear.
will see you more than enough stopping power for a fairly small ammount of money.
