Cant comment on nikon ones but I bought my dad a one for his olympus.. it works.. but doesnt marry up to the camera as well as the olympus ones do. Also hes had it 6 months and one of the buttons has stopped working properly... Build quailty isnt upto much!
Again its not a Nikon Grip, but i purchased a Phottix grip from ebay for my Canon 40d, it cost £40, and its spot on. The only problems: The wheel to adjust shutter speed is too loose, so it gets knocked easily when i'm walking with the cameras. It also doesnt have an AF on button on the grip, which i'm not sure if the Canon version does or not.
