no alternator belt help

  1999 mk2 clio
my alternater belt snapped while driving this morning and im unable to get it replace untill tomorrow.. how far will i be able to drive the car untill the battery dies?? will it do any damage to the engine driving with out the belt? my car is a 1999 mk2 clio 1.2 grande.

all answer will be appreciated, thank you.

Not very far at all, I think - especially if you have headlights on to travel about. The engine takes a significant amount of amperage to spin over via the starter motor. I suspect that will be your most difficult job - simply getting the car started again.

You maybe lucky, but I doubt you'll have long.... :(

thank u for your reply darren. its just i have to make a ten miles journey to pick up my kid from her fathers tonight and will have headlights on, will i make it as i have no other means of travel
