No ECU Cover, Problem?

Recently took this off my car as I found out it been cosing the car's erratci behaviour, i.e idling by itself and going into limp mode.

Am I likely to get any other problems now that it's missing?

Do you mean the metal security cover?

Aye, it just sits lose on top of it.

It sheilds it from water ingress and vibration.

Insulate the wiring properly and re-fit it.

Yeah fine without it. Mine hasnt been running one for about 5 years. Its only for security of the ecu. Think you need a special tool to undo them and most just get binned

Agh. Fine.

Run it without. In fact, just strip it down and tape the bare PCB to your wing.

Only on a 1.2 mind boys and girls.

Think I'll just wap some insulating tape over the top of it and see how that goes.

ECU's sealed in a metal unit, then theres a plastic cover over the top with the wee tie wrap clip.
