No new Cups till Mid October!!!

I put a deposit down on a new Cup on Saturday, was told that delivery would be around 1st of September, which was fine.

I just got a call from them, and apparently the factory shuts for the whole of August!! This means my delivery date would be pushed back until middle of October!!

Its no good for me, so Ive had to get my deposit back, and im basically going to have to look elsewhere.

I wanted a new one, used they are around 11.5k anyway, so not too big a diff from the £12800 I was getting this new for.

Im gutted, not sure what im going to get now, Golf 1.8T or something I guess (used). Theyre going to search the import depos, and see if anything turns up, and also offered me the showroom car, which I said id consider if a discount on price was given, as everyone has sat in, poked and prodded that car, but they wouldnt give me a discount!!

Oh well, no Cup at this stage then.

dont do a golf mate, you WILL regret it ! esp after the rx7. A few people on here have managed to source brand nen ones from stock anround the country, pm Jeremy Townsend, he might be able to help you ( works at Reno )

Good Luck

Simon

Just remembered, it was Rich-D who got a brand new Cup " off the shelf " recently, he may be able to help you....

Okay, been thinking, two choices here:

Get the showroom model, its apparently been in only two months, so should be fine???

or

Get a used, with majority of manufacturers warranty.

They have a used one I test drove there, felt good, though the clutch biting point was very high, is this normal?

I may go for the showroom one, im going to go give it a good going over, but if I dpont like it, may get a used, but im p*ssed, wanted it to be my first new car. Ho hum.

Called whitehouse renault in Orpington to see when they could get one, and they said the same, I said "err, they stop supplying cars around the time the new reg comes out?" and he said yes, very wierd.

The showroom car should be ok - been sat in a few times so have a good look round it. There will be other dealers with Cup on display so you should be able to get one quicker

  Scirocco GT TSi DSG

Golf will not be as much fun as a Cup, better build quality but 1.8T isnt the Golf of choice, my Diesel one is faster and the R32 is the only Golf to potentially embarass a Cup. I would go for the showroom car.

So are the garage i have ordered mine through telling porkies when they say mine will be delivered on August 28th then?

Nope, its only on orders placed as of the last couple days, I think any orders that went in before a few dayds ago will be fine, its just I put my order in just too late, lucky me.

I think I will get the showroom one, forget about sept reg, I dont care what reg it has really, and take the car as soon as my RX7 sells.

My insurance are trying to replace my cup with a new one and they are having no luck as well.

Should get paid out now, so i can get myself a Octavia VRS

Yup, I got mine 5 days ago...

But if I wanted one from the factory it was gonna be mid-September as my mate checked for me, but that was too long for me to wait.

So, he checked the Renault system to see exactly where all the brand new un-registered Cups were in the UK and I can tell you there are not many left, only about 10 maybe less now!!!

Luckily we found a dealer about an hours drive away from me that had 2 of them in stock and he knew the sales manager there, so he spoke to the guy and talked him into doing a stock transfer between dealers, so I got my Cup in less than 2 weeks from ordering.

If it hadnt been for the fact that my mate is the sales manager of my local dealer Id have had to wait!

Where in the UK are you mate as I "might" be able to get you one too!

I placed my order 10 days ago and was told delivery would be during the first week of September. To be honest Im not that bothered if its a couple of weeks later as it gives me more time to sell the S*xo

Its true - youre looking at mid-October delivery if you order a Cup at the moment. I was speaking with a guy at Renault UK in Leeds this morning about cost/delivery times. He confirmed that there are no ready to go Cups at the import centre, but I guess there could be the odd one in a dealer showroom somewhere.

The reason I was asking about a new Cup was that Im trying to give my current 4 week old Cup back to the dealer so Ill need to order another one.

Its a long story...

Okay, problem solved :)

Ive just bought the showroom car, and can pick it up end of the week/beginning of next week (not bothered about new reg or anything, rather have the car than worry about that).

Cheers for the help and advice all, had a really good look at it, its only been there a week, so no different than getting one that had just been delivered.

Everything is perfect on it, no dings or marks, but the stickers are wonk, want them taken off, and its got climate control, so exactly what I wanted.

So there we go, got to sell the Rex quickly, so anyone want a dyno proven 330BHP RX7 monster for under 9 grand???

Guys,

I am selling my CUP as I have too many cars at the moment (currently 5 including the rally car) and am selling the Impreza and CUP to make way for one "dream" car.

So if anyones interested in a mint CUP (no scratches/marks etc), regd 30th Sep 2002, 12,800 miles on it with K-Tec exhaust, Konig Blue (same as CUP colour)/black racing buckets (all wired in with pre-tensioners etc) and 17" Speedline Turinis in WHITE with Bridgestone S03s (1K old) plus the original mint 16" speedlines aswell, then please let me know.

The xtras come to £2K, so will accept circa £12K.

Cheers,
