No rear brakes

  evo 6rs/clio 172
My brother has just purchased a 172 cup
The rear brakes are not working
Discs are rusty,
When you brake its all on the frt end
Any ideas please

Its hard work as it locks up pretty easy,,
The rears are defo not working as red rust
Apparently according to the paperwork that came with the car they were fitted in sept,,,
Might they need bleeding or may a bias valve etc been knackered
These cups seem skitty as you push on , on b rds its quite a fight like the rear is trying to come around,,

mine's pretty similar if you press on in it; i think it's as intended

could try bleeding the rears, to be sure they're passing fluid, but they don't do much in comparison with the fronts

yes i believe the frts do most of the work,
But these are not working at all,,
I read that the cups trait is skitty about the b rds

tbh, what you've described sounds normal, but you could try bleeding, check discs/pads, and service calipers (check pistons, sliders, and h/brake arm are free/clean/lubricated, where relevant)

Check the calipers are moving freely on the sliders, somehow I doubt they are. They have a reputation of having crap rear brakes, but should still clear the rust off the discs!

Yes it goes in next wed for a stuttering pause at 5000rpm
So will get the guy to check them over,,,
Thanks for all your replies
