No slow wipers speed after removing rain sensor

Hey guys,

AS the title suggest, I can't make the wipers work at slow mode (acording to the speed switch), and can only make them work in an intermediate speed and fast.

And that's really annoying!

My rain sensor was removed after some insurrance issues, so now instead I only have the cord hanging there.

Is there a way I can make my wipers work at slow speed without the sensor?
It's very irritating do drive like this when it's a drizzle.

Not 100% sure but i would guess that you would require an ecu from a car without a rain sensor, i doubt a new stalk would fix it

More details as to why you can't refit the rain sensor if possible please

I can't refit it because now the car has a stndard clio windscreen, without a place for the rain sensor.

As far as i remember, there is a special slot for the sensor in the original windscreen. Am i wrong?

Am i not right in thinking that your insurance should pay for the correct screen to be fitted and if the wrong one was to be used they should pay for the correct one, maybe gally could shed some light on this

You are right.

but The damage to my old windscreen happend just when i bought my car, and they calimed it happend before i got the insurance from them.

Never mind, that's not the issue, I just want my wipers to work well again

Can i get the motor from a regular clio maybe and replace it?
|Any other options?

i took mine off to clean and it controls ur auto headlights as well.i also had the serv light on untill pluged back in

The motors are the same, and changing the stalk will make no difference, it's the programming on the UCH that will.
The first setting on the stalk uses the rain sensor to judge the wiping speed.

How do I take off the rain sensor? I am having the same problem, in that the auto wipers don't work and the wipers do not work on ittimitant setting- only fast and very fast? Is it easy and cheap to fit a new one if it is faulty? Also, is there a way I can check if the rain sensor is faulty? Many thanks!!!!

yep, need the clip tool to change the programming to turn on the intermittent function.

This - You need CLIP to reinisialise the UCH to work without a rain sensor. It's easy enough to do as I got a 182 ECU/UCH from Jonny for a customers 172 cup and at first it wasn't happy that a CB22 configuration was dropped in and running with a CB1N network... Things weren't working correctly and the dash lit up like Christmas. CLIP out, connected, 20mins later the UCH and ECU are re configured and all works perfectly (including the wipers).

sorry to hijack the thread, but i have the same problem that the first setting on the windscreen wipes doesnt work. Do you think that my car might have had a rain sensor that has be previously removed causing this. are the ways of telling?
