No sound..help

sinse i got firefox i think anyway i cant get any sound on the net, E.G. if i click a video link etc there's no sound also on Limwire it wont let me play songs and the vids have no sound, The speakers work as it does that error sound if i click the middle button. AAhhhhhh so annoying cant figure it out,

spiezels - do you have anything muted in your Volume Controls within Control Panel?

as above. make sure you can see 'wave' next to one of the faders otherwise goto options | properties and then put a tick in the wave box.

wen i try to access those controls as i used to be able to do it says..
there are no active mixer devices available. to install mixer devices go to control panel blaa blaa
