Today we fitted new discs/pads etc and the car was unlocked for long periods of time then re-locked when we stoped for lunch.
Once the wheels were back on and we were about to go for a test drive the car wouldn't turn over. Ignition comes on but then just would start. Tried in gear with the clutch down and pumping the gas but still nothing.
Thought it might be immobiliser so locked and then unlocked the car. Somewhere in this unlocking/locking I heard 3 beeps. It still would not start. Had to get a jump start while we went and tested/bedded the new discs/pads in. Came back to my mates to pick up my stuff and the car started okay the next time but did seem quite laboured and struggled a fair bit. It did this recently (struggled to start) at work a few times.
I've had lots of issues with the battery going flat and also struggling to start sometimes. The battery is about a month old and was replaced when the other one died. It had short journeys to work however got a long run yesterday. It was also charged up last week when it struggled as I thought it may be almost flat again but the charger showed it was fully charged 20 minutes later.
My friend thinks it's alternator related? How much would parts/fitting cost?
Any other ideas? Needs a air-con regas which I'll get done at Renault and was thinking of asking them to take a look at it but don't want to be bent over just to be told it needs doing. No fault codes have come up when holding 'trip' and switching the ignition on.
