Noise when you're cornering on three wheels?

At a recent trackday my 172 made an odd groaning sound in the middle of tighter corners, is this a rear wheel spinning freely as it hangs in the air and nothing to worry about?

Or something more serious?

Jack it up and spin the wheel as fast as you can. No groan means its not that

Never encountered any 3 wheeling noise myself....not normal imo

Sure it weren't the ABS going mad, or perhaps your front strut tops etc doing overtime as all the weights on them?

Mine used to make a noise when up on 3 wheels- the splitter rubbing along the ground!

Could be the shell bending and twisting and the internal plastic rubbing, how noisy was it was it a grinding?

I thought that it might be this, the noise fits, no real grinding just a torsional flexing type of noise, have you experienced this Edde?

Good question Matty, yes it does it on both left and right handers.

One wheel bearing was recently replaced so I think I can rule that out.
