noises to listen for when buying a 182

as above.. went to look at one the other day and it made a wooshing noise on start up

dealer said automatic choke but im skeptical..

anything specific i need to be aware of when looking??

All mine have made a kinda whirring noise from very cold start, but passes very quickly.

Heh, we've got a whoosh and a whirr.

Mine whines on start up.

maybe thats normal... but the guy had no service history and i heard a nice little rattle too.. so possibly the dephaser on the way out...

i asked him if it had been changed and he looked blank.. so i walked away haha

oh and i noticed some oil down the front of the engine and some on the passenger side of the block..

Same as mine, Clio's are generally rough from start up especially in colder weather!

has it got an aftermarket air filter on? they sometimes do that.

nope standard filter..
