when i put my foot down in 1st mostly i get a really strange sort of grinding noise, it sounds like somthing isnt lined up straight and is knocking or grinding when under a good bit of power, normally 3k upward if i boot it.. any ideas??

how severe is it? if its a knocking check the engine mounts as they are a weak point on the RS's

I get similar and was told it was the Exhaust Heat Shiel but havent got around to checking it yet, Think my Gearbox Mount is on its way out aswell though.

try not booting it in 1st gear, its not designed for that
