Noisy Valver

I have noticed recently with the cold weather that when i start the car in the morning it seems noisier (tappets) than it used too? Could this have something to do with the cold weather?

yep the cold weather will make it a bit noisier, does on mine anyways

do you use Castrol Magnatec oil by any chance ?

if so, thats probably why, change your oil !

you could also try some Forte Top End Treatment, available from Andy GDI, it isnt an off the shelf gimmick, Forte products are of the highest quality and DO work

anything lol, for whatever reason it doesnt seem to agree with early Renault engines, always makes them very noisy

Mine has all ways sounded rough from cold start. Whats the best type of oil? 10w40?? Must admitt i use Magnatec too!!!

Yup noisy in winter and different oils help. Best I have used although was in summer was Castrol RS. Just done first oil chaneg myself with it and used Forte engine flush and Forte Top End Treatment.

The top end treatment DOES work and got for a fiver instead of 18 quid via ebay. Recently picked up a lot of Forte stuff on there cheap so worth looking. Its all good.

Ah ha thats it then the oil! Thought i had put some serious wear on the engine recently!
