i have googled it but can't work it out for s**t.

how do i set up email on my phone? do i need an email address in the first place with like gmail or hotmail?!

can anyone tell me what to do or link me up to an idiot style guide!!!

Yes you need an account I would imagine with POP3 support.

Just put the mail server (SMTP and POP3) addresses in, your username and password, and you should be good to go.
