noob question

just got my new pc evry thing ok apart from my monitor. i have a 24in display and for some reason when i turned it on this morning it's put a 1" black border all aroud the edge and cant get it off..any ideas lol thanks

Is the monitor set up correctly, the hight and width set correctly ? do you have another monitor to test it on ?

Are you using VGA or DVI cable? My 24" Samsung won't accept a VGA signal from my Dell laptop without having a messed up resolution and the screen being off to the side, but used with the docking station and a DVI cable it is fine. I spent half an hour trying to sort it and then got bored but somebody else on here had the same issue and solved it IIRC.
