Noobie needs advice

Hi all, Im gareth and just joined after the forum was recommended to me by several people on other forums.

I am just about to buy a 2000 Clio 1.4 16v Si, like shown below:

I would like to know if it is possible to fit the fronjt and rear bumpers from the Clio 172, like below:

http://www.keeperlit.co.uk/newforge2001/Dscf0054.jpg

Would these be a straight swap for the originals or would they need any work doing to them?

Im just wanting to make the car lok a bit smarter without going over the top. So I was thinking some nicer bumpers, some colour coding and niceer alloys.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Gareth:)

ah, so the front wings are different to the standard clios then? lol, why is nothing ever easy?

wonder if the back bumper is a straight swap?

are the double optic headlights on the Si the same as on the 172? just in the above pics, they look slightly different, but not sure if its just the light

thanks,

gareth

back bumper is straight swop iirc

the front wings shouldnt be that expensive i wouldnt of thought. Arent they made out of plastic???

I know the Valver arches are made out of plastic which makes them relatively cheap to buy when compared to the standard ones from a 1.4

Front wings are about 50 a pop. Youll need front and rear bumpers, arch liners, front wings and boot spolier along with lowering it and changing the wheels to make a convincing 172 look-a-like.

Im not wanting to make a 172 look-a-like (although would be nice), I simply like the look of the 172 bumpers a lot more than the standard ones. I may not change them if its going to cost a lot of money.

if changing the wings, surely that means Id have to change the side skirts too?

may work out a lot cheaper to just colour code the black parts of the bumpers that are already on it.

Need to get the car first, am going to look at it tomorrow. Is there anything I should be looking out for especially?

So I need 172 front bumper, 2 wings & 2 sideskirts? Im talking about £400 (ish) + painting then? Not really worth it, is it?

Are the Si headlights the same as on the 172, the double optic ones?

thanks for replies so far,

Gareth

Maybe someone could Photoshop one for you. Think it would look a million times better with the bumpers colour coded. Also, something that helps is to put mk2 rear light on and a little drop. Would give it a better stance. Not to expensive
