Normal 172 engine into Cup help please

Just bought a 172 engine as my cup engine belt up. The new engine has just had new belts and pulleys fitted which is a bonus, or so i thought. Are the belts the same with the 172 engine having the air con unit on? I was going to whip this off and bin it, but if that means i'll need a new belt is it ok to just leave on?

Bit clueless really, can anyone help out with this please? :S

Has your belt on the cup snapped? If not are you suggesting changing the engine rather than the belt?

Just realised that im talking rubbish here. The cam belt will be ok but will the aux belt?

The aux belt snapped and made the timing belt jump. Bent all the valves and knackered a cam. £1500 to fix, so i got another engine.

You can buy a delete kit for the aircon on here.

I thought you could just swap all the aux set up off the cup lump onto the normal 172 setup? Correct me if i'm wrong but pretty sure you could.

yeah, just swap over all the cup ancilaries and your done, pretty obvious surely?
