Anyone seen this evo 9 before?!

My mate was showing me some 1/4 a mile vids of it on youtube, couldnt believe how rapid it was. 1/4 a mile in 9.4 at 150mph!!

Fair play for having the balls but reliability doesn't seem to be great, a £100k Evo built specifically for racing at Castle Combe was beaten by an MG ZR 1.8 over the course of last season.

It's more an Evo 8 than a 9

IIRC either the front or rear end is an Evo 8.. engine is def. a reworked lump from an 8

Rumours went round that he used his old evo 7 demo car. The difference between the 8 and 9 was the bumpers and the mivec head, which i believe Norris doesn't use anyway.

The noise the exhaust make tho is frightening!! When revved up it pops sooo voilently and sounds absolutely evil. Obviously when the exhaust is onlt about 1 foot in lenght with no silencer its gonna be loud!! :evil:

Reylands escort is a reliable piece of machinery unlike norris's evo

Well he aint sorted the evo in the last twelve months,

everytime its promised so much on the 1/4 mile its broke down :rasp:

Indeed, not on about straight lines. Neither are that special in that way.

Im sure they will both be at combe at some point or the redline track attack event. My money would be on Martin.

yeh i seen it spin out all the time too, i just hate how norris have been known to fly an engine over from Japan to fit in, when they are a tuning company and should represent their tuning abilities.

That does sound a bit suspect.

I know RS developments had their evo engine flown to the USA for stroker work and to have the Crower rods fitted.

???Explain. Norris does all his own engines.

^ Thats a internet rumour most tuning companies get from customers who use a rival company. Heard it loads of times, every time a different tuner.

Only problem I have seen it have which has let him down a few times is gear selection problems.

nine second 1/4 miles

trapping at 150mph, this was either late 05 or early 06. He has also done 210mph at elvington.
