Number plate recess in front bumper - 90mm high? Really?

I want some new plates from Fancyplates - 520 * 110 rear and 520 * ? front. But that's the problem. For the front I want a plate that reaches to the top of the recess, but doesn't hang down over the lower grill thing. Done a few searches and 90mm keeps coming up. But I've measured mine and I reckon the recess is about 97/98mm high. Anyone agree? But I don't want to end up ordering a plate that's too tall. My current front plate is 111mm high and the overhang is about 13mm - so about 96mm seems like a safe bet. (In case you're wondering why I don't just take the plate off to measure it, I can't - it's rivetted on.)

Ultimately I may just wait till weekend and remove current one, measure again, and temporarily reattach.

Feel free to call me an idiot.

But I've measured several times, and yes I've seen the guide, but maybe I've missed something? :S

Just measure it with the plate inplace, from the top of the plate down to the top of where the grille starts ( dont quite know how to explain it...)

Cheers for the responses.

It should be simple - height of current plate (assuming it's right up to the top, which it is) minus the overhang, and that should be 90mm, but it's not.

Measured at least half a dozen times. Going to take it off at the weekend and try that way.
