Numberplate LED light

Car  Mk4 .:R32
I got this from a group buy ages ago, from shinyautos.

I didn't work, so I cleaned the contact points etc, still didn't work. So I sent it back to Shinyautos and they sent me another one (probably the same one) and again doesn't work

any ideas?

LEDs have polarity, hate to state the bleeding obvious, but have you put it in the right way round?
iirc that is possible

yep!! tried that, cleaned it, tried it the otherway round, tried it again, checked the fuse, tried it again and so on until I gave up

Yea i had the same problem, if i wiggled the unit about and shook it a bit i would get a faint light but thats it.
In the end, i cut the contact and just got the bare wire to touch the connector.
works perfectly now. Its all properly insulated etc...
