Seb,

Get in touch when you know exactly when you will be at the ring. Ill meet you there. Ill give you a few passenger laps so you dont have to wast your money on recce laps.

Has the NSX lad any experience? Pretty hairy car to learn the ring in!

Just put a little extra air in the fronts and youll be grand. Tyre wear shouldnt be an issue for you. I get perfectly even wear across the fronts now that Im running about 2.6bar. Probably not the best for grip, but the tyres last much longer that way. Otherwise the outside of he left tyre wears through.

Change over to some Ferodo DS 3000 or DS2500 pads maybe. The stock ones can fade a bit and possibly leave deposits on the discs.

Dont worry about the rear tyres or brakes. They are just along for the ride.

Wear a helmet.

Eddd, just watching this thread out of interest, and noticed what you said about DS2500/3000. Now I used to run DS2000 on standard size discs and I was very pleased with them. On my 325mm discs I run Mintex 1155 and I dont like them at all. What do the DS2500 and DS3000 feel like, in comparison with DS2000 if youve used them mate?

Nick,

Crazy thing about the DS 3000 is that they are supposed to be crap when cold, and are listed for racing purposes only, but I find them very good all round pads. They have a fairly high coefficient of friction and I found myself slowing down too fast at first in comparison with the DS2000 which didnt last very long. The 2500s just didnt last at all.

On the street they are fine with just the odd squeel now and again.

What I would really like are the DS3000 Endurance pads, but they are not a normal production item. They supposedly last quite a bit longer.

Funny thing was that on the Willy the DS 2000 would last for a long time.

Well, I do now, especially when I am pushing a bit. If I have a passenger who doesnt, I take it off and back off a bit. Maybe about 1%...

Good idea. Ive come across too many crashes where the driver would be in great shape if he only had been wearing a brain bucket. Instead they have had to go to hospital.

The Commies and Greens are always trying to do that. The only toll road in Germany is the Nordschleife as far as I know.

The recommended limit on the unlimited Autobahn is 130km/h, and if you crash at a speed much over that the insurance companies can deny coverage now.
