looks like it's set to blow the 8800gts out of the water and it costs less too!!

yup, which is why they're releasing a new GTS to go above it again. Sucks tbh as i only bought a GTS a month or 2 ago :dapprove:

Sounds like OCUK may have an unbranded 8800GT for £150ish, retail cards arround £180

Revised GTS in 3 weeks though and also ATI's 2950 or 3800 whatever they decide to call it

Great time to be in the new card market if youve not upgraded in a fair while

Theirs a Nvidia NDA apparently preventing pre-orders and even site listings until tomorrow 00:01

Only thing is revised GTS out 2-3 weeks for approx £230 which will be quicker than a GTX so interesting times ahead

Yeah defo sounds interesting. We have a customer build on this week at work he has specced a 8800GTX, might sacrifice my card to him, slap my old X1950XT in mine for now and wait for the GTS.

Should be able to get a few quids of retail as well

hmm argh im buying a new card in the next few days and then i read this!! Going from a 6600gt... not buying an uber card like i normally do (8800 ultra thingie).. was going to go for the 8800gts... So people here would advise to go for the GT when its releases yes?.. I was after all going to be paying £180 for the 8800gts...

Defo don't buy a GTS just now, if you can't wait buy the GT. They will be releasing a GTS in November that will be faster than the current GTX, so you could wait.

ebuyer have the 8800gt listed on their stock list now. None in stock but it shows they're on order coming in in the next few days. Available for preorder now. I think I might get one too.

I doubted some early reviews but good ol' firingsquad says it all, what a frickin' card this is lol

Faster than GTS640 and £60ish cheaper, mild o/c on the GT = stock GTX performance and nearly half the price !

Revised GTS640 in 2 weeks will be a stormer
