There were two of the OPD cars out yesterday and both of them died, whoopsy!

Loom problem with the black one, and complete engine failure on the red one.

Shame as both were making very good progress before that.

Never mind, Im sure Nick will have the red one fixed for llandow and we'll have the black one partially reshelled into the new blue shell by then so will have that one there :)

I wondered what happened to you Chip, must have missed your session when you had issues and then obviously didn't spot you for rest of the day.

Was a shame I wondered what happened to the black one I thought it was a clutch or box issue as it just rolled to a stop after quarry corner ... Was wierd with the red one I was stood just after quarry corner and there was no rattles or knocks he came so close to passing the starlet and then just a wicked pop and smoke gutted for you mate hope to see it out again soon. :)

I had two issues yesterday, one was I ran out of talent going into the first chicane (tyres were cold and not upto temp yet so I went quicker than they had the grip for) and span out, no harm done though, didnt make any contact so was able to rejoin the session, and then I had a problem at the same point of the track about 4 sessions later where it just cut out and wouldnt run, initially thought it might be something simple like coil pack or a relay, but swapped a few bits off the RB and no joy, so looks like its probably the loom, no drama though as it was out last outing the can before we reshell it into the RB, so just got it recovered home and going to start swapping the bits over so the RB is useable for llandow (its hateful at the moment, the tired standard suspension is bordering on dangerous, lol)

Yeah one minute it was flying along passing everything quite happily, then just suddenly no spark or fuel at all, as if the key had been switched off, so had to coast to a stop and get towed off the track.

Mines poorly as well :( some sort of intermittent compression issue on number 4.

Mike said it needs stripping down but could be a stuck valve, rings or a cracked piston :(

Time to start saving for a rebuild!

Lol, these things happen when you are constantly hammering old cars, to be fair to the black one its got over 150K miles on the clock, its done probably 500+ track sessions including a trip to the ring and spa etc, and the last few months because Ive known its going to be replaced soon anyway and we've had so little time its not even had proper maintainance, so I think its more a case of just deserving a breakdown in it rather than bad luck!
