oem 1*2 airbox smoothing

Has any one tried this yet?

I have started to do this to my oem air box on my 182.

I have removed all the upper half restrictions just need to smooth them completly flat

Seems that now it can use the whole filter where as before the one end was quite tight due to the raised plastic strenghthning and would not flow well.

Maybe i am wasting my time but i get bored easy in this crap weather.
