OEM Display Out

Am I right in think even though a lot of head units say they have OEM Display you normally only can get an adapter for the steering wheel controls?

Anyone got a head unit wired into the OEM display?

there are loads of adaptors for loads of different makes availible

i'm gettin my system done soon and the place where i'm gettin it all done has found me a lead so my steering wheel controls and my OEM still work. think he said its between £50-£80.
i know that they're available for sony & pioneer head units, not sure about other manufacturers
