OEM Front speaker differences

Are there any differences between the front speakers in a sport and a non-sport Clio? I came across some ones from a guy who was breaking a 172 on eBay the other day and noticed how they were completely different to the ones in my non-sport and appeared to have bigger magnets. Also is there any difference in the rears either because my rears seem to be especially crap.
Cheers

the ones on the right are the ones you want, most that have the Cabasse auditorium seem to have those!

I know f**k all about speakers........ but i remember years ago one of my speakers in my full fat 172 went titsup. I bought one off eBay from a 172 cup and the speaker wasn't as good , it was alot lighter in weight. So there is a difference in whatever model of car you have.

Ahhh okay thank you. As my car is only an expression then it probably has the worse ones

Do these look to be the Cabasse auditorium ones?

They don't look like the ones that Martin posted. To me they look like a cheaper speaker. But like I said , I know nothing other than my experience.
Maybe if you can get some from someone who is breaking a full fat 172 or 182 you'll get better quality speakers?

Yeah looking at them again they have quite a few subtle differences. There's literally one Cabasse one on eBay so that's irritating. I guess I might have to get a membership to get access to the for sale section

I replaced mine with alpine SXE-1325S, they need lead adapters but are a direct fit

The cabasse speakers are alright, but most are past their best now and the foam outer is crumbling. Last about 5 mins before the cone starts rattling.

Bosh some half decent aftermarket speakers in.

im not a fan of aftermarket unless you are replacing the head unit or amping them

over the years they were produced there seems to be about 10x different versions of speakers, small magnets, large magnets and a few different variances inbetween, the ones I posted above seem to be the best of the bunch that ive tested, and with a cabasse head unit sound fantastic if you want to stick to standard gear

Okay thank you, I suppose they are all at least 14 years old now haha. My stock ones rattle and it drives me mad. Do you have any recommendations for aftermarket ones which are good value and will fit straight in the doors?

I looked at those alpines a while ago, what are they like? Can you remove the tweeter from them or is it permanently fixed on the cones?

Ahh that's good to know, thank you. I have a pretty high powered head unit (4x55w), do you reckon that would be able to drive a decent set of aftermarket ones?

They are probably quite good but I think the head unit is the limiting factor. Not sure about the tweeter

Okay that's good to hear, do you have any you recommend or have heard good of?

Ahh, do you know what power your head unit is?

sorry its years since ive played with aftermarket stuff, I used to use Pioneer as I had a large Pioneer car audio dealer near me and the stuff was very good but it was years ago and ive never tried any other brands so would be wrong for me to say just buy Pioneer lol

No worries! Thanks for your help anyway. I've always heard good things of Pioneer so will give them a look

I'm sure someone on here will know, they aren't great as standard though
