Thought something dodgy was up with my washers on my xenons, the little ball thing that sits in the top of the actual washer has gone on both of them. Dont know if they have just come off our what. But water squirts out everwhere ! do i have to get complete new washers now, dont know if someone has done it on purpose ( if they have been prised out, no damage on the plastic) or if they have just come out maybe ? :(

It's a very common problem and I'd place a large wager that it's happened on almost every 172 out there.

I could be wrong but I seem to recall the proper fix was a bumper off job. As a result most people just left them broken.

So is it a big job to replace them ? :( just done a search but couldnt find much on it. Prob me seraching for the wrong thing. I cant leave them broken the water squirts all over the show ! Lol Plus dont i have to have washers cos it has xenons ?

Nope not a big job I can have a bumper off in 5 mins. The actual washers aren't that expensive either they're about £7 or something from the stealers, its just they'd tell you its a big job and charge you the earth.

I have just read on another post that i can just put the balls in, without replacing the whole stalk. Will buy some off Renault this week hopefully, not sure when they are open around Xmas, or maybe Santa will bring me some :D
