Oi...Torsion Tuning / ClioSport / R5 question

  Renault 5 GTE
Oi m8s

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you for nice new layout, I've been on these boards for a while, so you might remember me or not...I remember Ben R as the most technical guy here... :)

Anyway, I've been doing my R5 GTE in last year, and to see if I did it right, you can see it here; http://www.jon44w.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?tid=61430

So, the thread is about a article I've read in Performance GTi, about Torsion Tuning, that they specialize in engine conversions...and that they did Cliosport engine in R5 GTT...

I've got some PDF files about converting R5 GTE into 1.8 16V, because the engine block is the same, thus the engine mounts...

So, if the Clio's F4R lump is F block, that means it could fit in GTE?

Any info appreciated...thank you :)

Still here! lol

Nice work, lots of effort and its very clean when you finished!

The F7 engine will plonk in fine, the F4 will aswell but with abit more effort and electrical gremlins will drive you crazy unless you buy the complete loom, key, plip, UCH, barrel etc etc.

I personally would plonk in an F7R, stick some cams in it, remap and good exhuast and you'll have a faster engine than a stock F4R and easier to install/cheaper.

Oi Ben

I think that's what I'll do, F7 engine, probably 1.8 because the Willy is a bit rare over here...but who knows...

About remapping...anyone have experience with Unichip/Dastek?

You can use the dastek stuff, its not too complex.

Make sure you buy a wideband lambda setup though!

Look for a megane F7R 710/714 engine out of the cabrio/coupe's.

OK...isn't there a difference between Megane Coach's 2.0 16V and Willy?

I've heard that there is a difference, but I don't know if it's true or not...and I've been hearing that for years, that Megane hasn't the same engine as Williams...

yea, diff head, ecu, ignition system.

You can run a megane block with a F7P clio head and ECU, but need to chip the ECU.
