oil change help please

hi,

how do i change the oil on my 172mkII? there seems to be a small cover in near the 2.016v badge on the left. do i need to remove the whole engine cover or can i remove what seems to be like a small cover, if i look close there is a yellow thing under the small cover. this is the oil cap, but i cant seem to get my cover off?? ive already scratched my cover a bit using a screwdriver and dont want to damage anymore. which way do i pull or push. any help

if your actually trying the CHANGE the oil you may do well to consult someone who can help you with it first time, its a little more complex than taking the cap off and if your struggling with that it would be best to get some help ( no offence meant if its a bit patronising)

if your not sure then get someone to help you.the oil filters on them are a bit awkward to get to.Where you from?
