Oil filler cap, how the hell does it come off?

Ive tried screwing either way, tried pulling it off. How an earth is it held on.
Mk2 ph1 clio non sport
Any ideas?

the cap is in two pieces - this is a retarded design as the top part sheers away from the lower. Try pushing it down hard and turn it to the left and lift away.

you need a new one.
