OIL FILTER CHANGE

  Renault Clio 1.2
I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A SECONDHAND CLIO 1.2 WITH A D7F ENGINE. I WANT TO CHANGE THE OIL MYSELF BUT THE OIL FILTER IS BEHIND THE ALTERNATOR AND BELOW IT IS PART OF THE CHASSIS. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF IT POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE OTHER THAN A MECHANIC WITH A HYDRAULIC RAMP TO BE ABLE TO CHANGE THIS? I COULD ONLY USE A JACK AND GET UNDERNEATH WHILST THE CAR IS ON MY DRIVEWAY. I HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO TRY THIS YET BUT IT THE FILTER LOOKS TO BE A VERY DIFFICULT PLACE TO GET AT.

Really easy to get at underneath mate. Best option is to use some of them drive on ramp things, but jacking it up should give you enough room.
If you get underneath you'll see its dead easy to undo. Use some cloth or something to cover the subframe, else you'll get oil drip down on it, along the driveshaft, on your wheel etc.

THANKS FOR THAT INODAZ. IT JUST LOOKED REALLY DIFFICULT WHEN I LOOKED DOWN AT IT FROM THE ENGINE BAY.
