Oil & Filter change

Car  clio 182 black /gold

II have just rang my local dealer and they want £81 for a oil and filter change :(how can they charge so much?

Seems like a lot of dosh that doesnt it

Maybe supply your own oil and get an independent garage to carry it out?

as long as its just an oil/filter change and not a service

I thought of going to national for £20 is this worth it?

Not surewhat they are like but i took mine to an independent garage I know very well and they changed my oil and filter (i supplied oil) for £20.

This was in between a service

Provide your own oil and filter and any garage can do it for you if you dont fancy doing it yourself. Dont get ripped off.

I paid £70 to have my oil & filter changed (i supplied the filter, mechanic supplied the oil) fit both track rods & ends, fit cam cover gasket and fit front brake discs!!! Bargain garage!!!

£45 For oil

£7.86 For a Oil filter and washer

Jobs done!

I watched pete do mine on wed night, its so easy!!!!!! Ill be doing my next one for sure

I had 2 quotes from reno - £70 and £100 !

Got my own oil, bought filter and local garage did it in 20 mins for a tenner ! total cost ... £33

i think reno wanted me to bend over aswell before i left !!

This is what I mean about prices varying depending on where you live............it goes from £25 to £81 :o...................and it shows the saving to be made when supplying your own oil eh :D

£25 to £100 ..... i got quoted £70 with me supplying oil !! £30 on top for oil

cant beleive they are alowed to charge that sort of money for such a simple job!! garages shud be fined for over charging

the little pikey that does the oil filter change wont get the 25-50 quid an hour that a garage will charge....and if u supply filter and oil how can they charge 70 quid for taking off a sump plug....waiting....putin sump plug back on unscrewing a filter refiting new one and pouring some oil - im in the wrong job!

i got charged £27 by a VERY expensive (usually) local renault dealer. Me supplying proper elf 5w40 oil. basically it takes them 20 minsa dn about £6 in parts.

I go to Renault Minute in Portsmouth (Im not organised enuf to book in advance for such things lol) .. they charge £35ish! :)
