oil filter washer thingy?

my dad says i need to get a new washer for the oil filter when replacing it. not quite sure what he means, as i bought a filter and it's just like an air fliter kind of thing.

it's a mk2 ph2 1.2 16v - any ideas?

He will mean a sump plug washer mate. theyre just copper washers, or dowty (sp) washers.

Renault there cheap enough 50p ish cprices chnage a lot

a lot of motor factors dont seem to keep sump washers, get yourself to Renault mate, they dont cost much

Best to get it from Renault as it will have a Rubber Seal whereas Halfords and places like that often just sell a plain Copper Washer

I've always reuse the washer thats already on lol . Never had any leaks ( touch wood ) Owt to save 10 bob haha

Unless he's thinking about the sealing o-rings on the filter housing? Although all the ones I bought from renault when I had my 1.2 always came complete with filter in a new housing rather than just the paper insert.

just ask for a sump washer they're all the same realy all clios etc use the same type

Yep I found this out too, went to two different local places and they didnt have any!
