Oil for the 197

What oil should be used for the 197 or whats recommended?

Is it 5W40 or 5W30?

My dealer seems to think that Renault recommend 5W30 and the service booklet should be ignored.

5W40, there is a statement from Renault UK about this someware.

I think Renault state 5-40 for that 197 but I'm guessing is the same as the 172 ie

Renault recomended fluids/amounts/grades to be used.

The dealer is saying 5W30 is recommended and is better but 5W40 can also be used.
