oil in inlet manifold

  ClioII 1.2L 2003
good day guys

Yesterday when I went to service my clio I found traces of engine oil behind the air filter in the inlet manifold, the mechanic told me that this is not good, it may be just extra oil in engine but I told him that the car takes 4L exactly with a new oil filter installed without adding an extra 1L and during the period ( 10,000km ) I never top it up or see low oil levels
so he told me that this could be a bad sign, he told me to come tomorow early so that we can make a full check on the engine ( Cam - Valves - head gasket..etc )
When I found him mentioning all this I got concerned, actually I wasn't complaining of any problem, the car is perfect, no starting problems, good acceleration, no strange noices, fuel consumption is good.....etc

Can anybody tell what am I expecting?????

Its a 2003 1.2L 16V ClioII
by the way my oil change as recomended by renault is Mobil 1 5W-50

Regards
Amr

I take it your not from the UK? 5-50 is a bit thick realy for your car.

The mechanic sound like he's being silly realy you'll always find some oil there.

If you've never topped it up its not buring any so there no problem.

Theres always going to be oil there due to the crankcase breather setup, its fine don't worry about it.
