If it's only just below minimum, chances are it hasn't been like that for long. Either that or it wasn't correctly filled last time and your car doesn't use much oil.
Top it up to full (it'll probably take about a litre to get close to the top of mark on the dipstick), then keep an eye on it every day or two. Simples.
I wouldn't have thought it'd do much damage but you'll probably find out the hard way if it has.

Dipstick only shows the top 0.8/1l of Oil remember, the 1*2 takes 5.1 litres in total.

So you still had around 4 litres on oil in the engine...Nothing to worry about.

Becareful when you're taking the reading from the dipstick. I overfilled mine (Not in the T but a previous car) after driving the car for a short period (round the block) then checking the dipstick, deciding it could do with topping up and then doing so. If you check it after any sort of drive it can appear alot lower than it actually is. In my 172 I checked it in the am and it was full, turned it over and drove and it was just below mininum. No oil had escaped just clinging onto metal I guess. I also told this to a trader and he said that was normal. Therefore, bare this in mind. Checking when not driven overnight and it was again back upto full again.
