oIL LEAK- HOW MUCH?

I'VE got an oil leak around the rocker cover, whatsthe cost and how much labour is needed?

Why is that?
Surely you only need to remove the plenum and inlet and you have full access to the rocker cover.

Because that holds the cams in undo it and tension of the belt could pull the cams out, renault manual says you need to do cambelt as well

yep, to get the rocker cover off you have to remove the VVT pulley, the cambelt etc etc

about a 7hour job

in terms of money what am i looking at to pay for it a rough guide line price, i've seen other members here getting this work done.

Can anyone tell me a rough price for this?

I'm having this done this week, apparenty its a warranty job. Renault want the car for two days!

Well rough price from renault would be £600 to £800 i would imagion a specialist £450

i paid 375 with a service, and cable throttle replacing (supplied my own bits) at my local renault specialist, that was for the cam seal replacing, to fix an oil leak where the oil was collecting under the rocker cover inb the recess's

What ever you do, dont ever take it to place called mendal motors, renualt specialists in the north east. Thats where the previous owner got is timing belt done, and they did a bad job of it, hence the reasons why i'm having problems now.

is it defo the rocker cover or the oil vapour breather casting on the top of the rocker cover?

Definately the rocker cover, theres two much oild coming out of that area

I also have similar leak, lots of oil that runs down the back.

and dripping on the exhaust manifold. not sure whats the source, I cant see properly..

How much if it was done at the same time as the 72k/5yr service? Cam belt needs doing anyway.
