Oil leak - Where is it coming from?

  R35 GTR
This leak has been on my car since I had the engine rebuilt in January, but the garage and me couldnt find out where it was coming from until now...

I have found that it is coming from the back of the engine drivers side near the exhaust manifold.

I dont want this to turn into a slanging match about the different tuners and I will not mention who did the work as I am 100% confident they will sort it out as they have a good reputation.

Anyone got any ideas exactly where is is leaking from? It is quite close to one of the belts so a little worried about driving until its fixed....

Headgasket?

Might be possible. But havent had any signs of oil burning or creamy oil or oil in the coolant.

Any where else it could be coming from? I have taken some pics around the rocker cover area, was hoping it was coming from here.

It is possible for it just to leak oil from the headgasket and not cause any other problems!! Actually its pretty common on older stuff!

I cant really tell what im looking at properly but could it be the sill on the gearbox? I say this because this is what is going on with mine right now, but is know where near as bad as that, yet??

Actually gearbox is more passenger side I believe, where is the leak from mate?

Rob.

I only had the engine rebuilt 4000 miles ago...plus I know it has been there since near enough day one.

Will it need the head skimming?

is the whole back of the block wet all along where the head bolts up?
looks wetter around the cam belt cover could be a camshaft oil seal or possibly one of the core plugs in that area

lol!!!!

Thanks for the info Mike, I'll ask the garage to add some dye when it goes back in. Looking back they could have done this to begin with.

I've got one at the mo.. can't tell where it's coming from. I can't really tell from the pics, but if the dye doesn't work try getting some degreaser stuff and steam washing it clean, then put a few miles on the clock and see where it reappears from, perhaps.

sort it asap before it starts eating rubber bushes / mounts

Will do as I dont think this is acceptable after only 4000 miles of light road use. I am just wondering if the garage will try and wriggle out of doing it as this is obviously going to be an engine out job again.:S

They do know that the problem has been there since day one though.
