Oil level advice needed

Hi,

The oil indicator on my clio aid the oil was at half way. I have had the car for 11k miles now from new so thought I should top up. I checked the dipstick and it was also about the half way point between the min and max levels.

I put some oil in to top it up and it was fine I rechecked the dipstick today and it is slightly ove the max oil level. Will this cause any damage to the engine. I have driven roughly 15 miles with it in this state should I drain it as soon as possiable?

Any help is greatly apreciated I am a bit worried about this.

P.S. it is about 1/4" over the max level.

I wouldnt worry about it, a slight overfill shouldnt cause a problem

Id drain it out personally just loosen the sump washer slightly and catch the oil.

where abouts is the sump plug? What tool do I need to open it?

i wouyld drain it, i had problems when i put too much oil in the breathers overflowed and oil went everywhere

how much did you over fill by?

16V job had a 1.2 at the time I think.
Easy to remove the sump plug get an 8mm suare tool (or a big screwdriver) and you can get the sump plug out its round the back of the sump of the engine so park on a curb and pull yourself under the car so you can see the back of the sump and youll see the tyre of tool you need.
