Oil Level

Was at work today and started the car and check the oil level on the Trip Computer and there was only 2 bits on there so went out and checked the dipstick and theres prob about 10mm of oil on the dip stick but later today went to halfords for some Velcro Pads for number plate and checked it again before heading home and the trip comes moved up to 4 bits now....so all im asking is should i top the oil up ?? also how much should i put it and what kind ?

let the car stand on level ground for a a couple hours and check and top up the oil so its max on the dip stick.

Car's got 4,9 litre

if that was the only oil left on the face of the planet i wouldn't use it

10W40 will be fine, leave the car to stand on flat ground for about 2 hours then check the oil level with the dipstick

Ill check it again tomoz at work as is parked on the pavment atm....
