oil ok lights at startup

anybody had any problems with their oil ok light coming on at startup and telling you there is no oil , mate of mine is having probs with his 172 , any help would be gratefull

the oils ok though , when its checked its reading max on dipstick ?

press the reset button when it says oil ok

------ means empty and oooooo means full

brian are you sure you wasnt parked uphill when the display said you had no oil,thats what happened with mine.soon as i got on the flat it showed 2 out of 6 on the display.ive only done 1600 miles and has used over a litre of oil ,it was run in hard

wasnt my car steve . was my m8s he said his oil was at max on stick when he checked it and he lives on the flat . im on my 3rd renaultsport and never had this happen , just wondered if anybody else had this thats all , but thanks all anyway , helpfull as always
