Oil pressure light!

I ve just fetched a Clio 182 and am having the oil pressure light with the stop light come on,it stops on for a while then goes off for a bit then returns?
Oil level fine and the car drives fine etc
After searching for similar problems it seems the oil pressure sensors are quite troublesome on these and the best thing to check and replace first. The other thing is the chap i bought it off jet washed it this morning and i ve read other people having trouble after using a pressure washer!
Any body know the best place to get a oil pressure sensor at a good price as im sure Renault will be twice as much!

i jet washed mine yesterday and went at it like a nutter then popped out and it drove like s**t and had to sit in a bus stop for 15mins until whatever got wet dried out!

i will be more careful next time

First things first - don't assume it's a buggered sensor... it most likely is but check the basics first to avoid killing the engine!

1. Oil level - check it's okay
2. Oil Pressure - Is it correct at cold start/hot idle?
3. Oil Leaks - are there any major ones?

The part itself is fairly cheap as its the same sensor used on every 4 cylinder Renault from the 90's on... nothing special really.

I changed the sensor today and no light so far so hopefully a £8 fix

Yeah i used the car today and the light is definately sorted so a nice cheap fix
